WHO AM I?
My identity is not in things or what I do. Neither beauty, fame nor fortune set my value.
The core of who I am and what I’m worth rest with He who formed me before birth.
Your word, Lord, tells plainly who I am in You. May these truths reshape what I believe is true:
I am blessed, I am chosen,
forgiven, loved, emboldened.
I am cherished, held, protected, guarded,
Redeemed, treasured, and aptly armored.
Under Your wings is refuge from the storm.
I am safe and can sing when all goes wrong.
I’m equipped for whatever You place before me–works You planned before I came to be.
I am guided, molded, transformed,
filled with Your light-
A shining star in blackest night.
I am gifted as You see fit to give,
talents to serve You as I live.
Never abandoned or forgotten, I am always on Your mind.
Never walk life’s path alone; You promise to lead the blind.
I am holy, even righteous, yes it’s true.
My Lord Jesus, all because of You.
I am not bound by time and space.
I’m eternal by Your loving grace.
So when my time on earth is done,
I will worship at Your glorious throne.
Until that day, Lord, let me be
Who You say I am to be.
Remembering Your love for me
Walking in Your identity.
